Five pillars of Islam that are believed by Muslims
For Muslims, the pillars of Islam are the basic foundation in carrying out life in the world and worshiping God (Allah). Pillars of Islam is an obligation that must be carried out by a Muslim consisting of five cases, except for the fifth pillar going on pilgrimage this will be done for those who are able to go to Mecca and perform the pilgrimage.
As the hadith narrated by Sayyidina Umar r.a as quoted by Imam Nanawi in his arbain book reads this:

That Islam must make your shahada, in fact there is no god but Allah and indeed "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and establish prayer and pay alms and be satisfied in the month of Ramadan and worship to the Baitullah if the power of travel"
Here are the 5 pillars of Islam:
1. Reading the shahada Syahadat
The Creed consists of two sentences, the first sentence stating that only Allah is worthy of worship. Whereas the second sentence states that we must believe and acknowledge that the Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of God.
In addition, the recitation of the shahada is said by Muslims in every prayer that is at the beginning and end takhiyat. And become a main requirement for adherents of other religions who want to enter and become a Muslim.
"ASYHADU AN LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAH, WAASYHADUANNA MUHAMMADAR RASUULULLAH".
That means
"I testify that there is no God but Allah. And I testify that the Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"
2. Establish prayer
As Muslims prayer is a worship that is done 5 times a day with a specified time, the following prayers that must be performed:
- Fajr Prayer
Prayers performed before the dawn. This prayer amounts to 2 rak'ahs.
- Prayer Dhuhr
Prayers are carried out during the day and amount to 4 rak'ahs.
- Asr prayer
Prayers are performed in the afternoon with a total of 4 rak'ahs.
- Maghrib prayer
Prayers are performed at sunset until entering the evening time. There are 3 raka'at
- Isha prayers
Prayers are performed at night until the sun rises with the amount of 4 rak'ahs.
3. Fasting during the month of Ramadan (Shawn )
Ramadan fasting is carried out in a period of 29 to 30 days which is done once a year. In this Ramadan fast there are abundant rewards given by God to his people, a person who is sleeping in the condition of fasting in the month of Ramadan is also considered a worship by God (Allah)
4. Alms
Zakat is the issuance of part of the property as much as predetermined, given to the needy and unable. Zakat consists of two types, namely zakat mal and zakat fitrah.
-Zakat mall
Zakat maal (wealth) is zakat of income such as agricultural products, mining products, sea products, trade results, livestock products, found assets, gold and silver. Each type of income has its own calculation.
- Alms of nature
Zakat is carried out during the month of Ramadan using basic commodities commonly used by residents around. Every believer who is able or has the rest of the staple food must issue zakat. Zakat Fitrah per person = 3.5 staples consumed by residents.
The following people who receive zakat:
- Poor
The group of people who almost have nothing so unable to meet their basic needs.
- poor
The group of people who have a little wealth, but can not meet the basic needs for life.
- Amil
People who collect and distribute zakat.
- Mu'alaf
People who have just entered or are new to Islam and need help to adjust to new circumstances.
- Slave
People who want to free themselves.
Gharimin
People who are in debt to meet their needs, provided that those needs are lawful. But unable to pay the debt.
- Fisabilillah
People who fight in the way of Allah.
5. Go on Hajj
Going to the pilgrimage is done by a believer once a year for those who can afford it in the month of Hijri (calendar of believers)
